WILLIAMSPORT, PA (January 13, 2024) -- The King's College men's swimming team earned head coach Kellyo Keane's first career victory as the Monarchs defeated the host Lycoming College, 100-55, in Lamade Natatorium on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Monarchs improved to 1-4 in dual meets, while the Warriors drop to 2-6.

The King's (1-4) 200 yard medley relay team put the Monarchs on the board first as the team of
Christopher Maciejczyk,
Chris Marriott,
Blaze Graham, and Billy Hanson a first-place finish in 2:01.72 before
Anthony Ursini dominated the 1,000 yard freestyle in 11:40.33 to topple Lycoming's (2-6) Drew Degnan. In the 200 yard freestyle,
Matthew Maciejczyk earned the top spot in 2:18.16 over Brian Hulsey.

A packed field in the 50 yard freestyle saw Graham finish first in 23.83 seconds, while
Christopher Maciejczyk took third in 27.22 seconds.
Chris Marriott was next to cross for the Monarchs in 27.52 seconds, while Hanson posted a time of 28.31 seconds.
Matthew Maciejczyk and
Cody Zheng rounded out the event in 30.69 seconds and 35.14 seconds, respectively.

In the 200 yard individual medley, Hanson took second in 2:48.48. Graham then claimed back-to-back second-place marks, first in the 100 yard butterfly in 1:03.22 then in the 100 yard freestyle in 58.09 seconds. Marriott placed third in the 100 yard freestyle in 1:03.09, and Zheng posted a time of 1:25.24.

The Monarchs continued to cruise in the meet as
Christopher Maciejczyk and
Matthew Maciejczyk placed second and third in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:09.86 and 1:19.05, respectively, before Ursini claimed his second top finish in the meet in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:48.82. Marriott then won the 100 yard breaststroke in the final individual event in the meet in 1:19.80, while Hanson placed second in 1:23.46.

King's finished strong in their return to the pool with a win in the 200 yard freestyle relay as the team of Ursini, Hanson,
Christopher Maciejczyk, and Graham recorded a time of 1:46.54.

The Monarchs will be back in action next weekend as they travel to Annville, Pa. to take on Lebanon Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19.
