SCRANTON, PA (October 12, 2024) -- The King's College men's swim team split their Saturday tr-meet against the Pacers of Marywood and the Colonels of Wilkes. The Monarchs defeated the Pacers 104-65 and fell to the Colonels 53-151 in the Marywood Aquatics Center.

In the first team event of the afternoon, the 200-yard Medley Relay team that consisted of
Austin Morris,
Chris Marriott,
Billy Hanson, and
Noah Dunbar took second with a time of 1:56.19 to Wilkes' relay team who posted a time of 1:46.57. In the 200-yard Freestyle Relay, King's first team of Morris,
Matthew Maciejczyk, Hanson, and Dunbar took second at 1:44.36. While David Guillen,
Cody Zheng,
Jimmy Ardito, and Marriott recorded a time of 2:00.44 for last spot in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay.

In the individual events,
Matthew Maciejczyk placed third with a time of 2:16.62 in the 200-yard freestyle. Morris notched a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:04.03 and Ardito was right behind with a time of 1:19.04. Marriott earned the second spot in the 100-yard Breaststroke at 1:19.02, while Guillen-Duran had a time of 1:36.20.

The squad witnessed several Monarchs compete in the 50-yard Freestyle. Dunbar took third at 25.63, Morris at 26.27,
Matthew Maciejczyk at 28.32, Guillen-Duran at 29.74, and Zheng at 33.08. There were also multiple members of the team who competed in the 100-yard Freestyle. Hanson was in fourth at 57.61, Ardito clocked in at 1:05.83, Guillen was right behind at 1:08.45, and Zheng reeled in the Monarchs at 1:21.37.
Matthew Maciejczyk brought home a second place finish in the 500-yard Freestyle with a time of 6:33.25.

In the 100-yard Butterfly, Dunbar collected a time of 1:08.27 for the fifth spot and Marriott finished at 1:14.24. In the last individual event of the day, Hanson came in at third in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:31.81 and Ardito rounded the group at 3:02.49.

King's will have one week off before they go back on the road to Oneonta, NY for a tri-meet against Hartwick and SUNY-Delhi at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 19
th.
