Men's Swimming Fall at Widener Quad Meet

CHESTER, PA (October 26, 2024) -- The King's College men's swim team fell to Widener 213-30, lost to Hood 173-44, and was defeated by Messiah 190-40 on Saturday afternoon at the Schwartz Athletic Center.
 
In the individual events, Matthew Maciejczyk finished sixth in the 1000-yard freestyle at 13:49. During the 200-yard freestyle, Noah Dunbar took the ninth spot at 2:12.28, while David Guillen-Duran clocked in at 2:41 and Cody Zheng finished at 3:05.84. Jimmy Ardito clocked in at 1:15.95 for seventh place in the 100-yard backstroke. Chris Marriott competed in the 100-yard breaststroke had a time of 1:18.40 for ninth and Guillen-Duran came in at 1:25.52. In the 50-yard freestyle, the Monarchs witnessed four different members of the team battle.
 
Matthew Maciejczyk swooped in at ninth for a time of 27.59, Christopher Maciejczyk was right behind at 27.66, Ardito clocked in at 29.38, and Zheng at 35.54. Billy Hanson had a time of 59.24 in the 100-yard freestyle, Guillen-Duran finished at 1:07.12, and Zheng rounded the team at 1:20.78. Matthew Maciejczyk took seventh place with a time of 6:28.26 in the 500-yard freestyle. For the 100-yard butterfly, Dunbar clocked in at 1:07.19 and Chris Marriott was in at 1:12.02. Hanson timed in at 2:32.10 in the 200-yard IM and Ardito followed at 2:51.51.
 
In the team events, the King's relay team that consisted of Christopher Maciejczyk, Hanson, Dunbar, and Marriott came in last during the 200-yard medley at 2:01.65. The Monarchs had two teams in the 200-yard freestyle. The first team that comprised of Guillen-Duran, Dunbar, Hanson, and Marriott finished at 1:47.95 for the sixth spot. The second team that included Ardito, Zheng, Christopher Maciejczyk, and Matthew Maciejczyk came in at 1:59.22 for seventh place.
 
King's will host their first meet of the season against Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) opponent FDU-Florham at 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 2nd. The squad will be back on the road at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 9th against Wilkes and Stevenson.
