WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 21, 2024) -- The King's College men's golf team falls to Wilkes and Scranton on Sunday afternoon at Huntsville Golf Club. The Monarchs had a team score of 359, the Royals had 300, and the Colonels collected a score of 327.
At the par-72 course, Scranton took the three top spots with Jack Novis scoring an even round of 72, Jake Guenther was one stroke behind with 73 (+1), and Danny Harding had a score of 76 (+4). Wilkes Trevor Duboth and Cole Jungwirth tied for fourth with 77 (+5).
JP Gilroy (Jr.) and Gehrig Shannon evened with a score of 79 (+7) to earn sixth place.
The Royals' Liam Burtis had an eighth-place finish with 82 (+10) and the Colonels' Matthew Carlson carded a score of 85 (+13). At tenth place was Trey Hilbert of Scranton with 88 (+16) and
Jackson Grozelle (Jr.) had a score of 92 (+20).
Michael Kaleta (Fy.) followed with 93 (+21) and
Alexander Ray (Jr.) was two strokes behind to score a round of 95 (+23). Daniel Nau of Wilkes carded a score of 96 (+24) and
Gavin Ruger (Jr.) rounded the Monarchs with 104 (+32).
King's will be back on the green on Wednesday, April 24th at 1 p.m. to take on Scranton one last time. The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships is set to take place April 27
th-28
th and will be hosted by DeSales at Olde Homestead Golf Club. Time of the event is to be announced.
