Gregory, Toussaint Lead King's in Close Contest at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, PA (April 28, 2024) -- The duo of Logan Gregory and John Toussaint picked up two wins each to lead the King's College men's tennis team in a close 5-4 setback to the host Susquehanna University on Sunday afternoon. The Monarchs wrap up their regular season at Garrett Tennis Courts with a 7-11 overall record, while the River Hawks improved to 6-10.
 
Gregory earned his first win in the match with victories of 6-1 and 6-0 at No. 1 singles over Tim Basta, while Toussaint defeated Alex Baker at No. 2 singles by sets of 6-2 and 6-0. The pair then downed the River Hawk duo at No. 1 doubles, 8-1. Brendan Turowski collected the final win in the match for the Monarchs at No. 5 singles, earning a 7-6 (7-5) win in the first, falling 6-1 in the second, and flipping the score to win the third 6-1 over Gavin Ream.
 
At No. 3 singles, Patrick Pech battled with Owen Miller, falling 6-3 in the first before taking the second, 6-2. The pair went down to the wire in the third before Miller earned the win, 7-6 (7-2), over Pech. Aidan Temple dropped sets of 6-2 and 6-3 to Thomas Hallahan at No. 4 singles, while the No. 6 singles match saw Cody Zheng lose in 6-1 and 6-4 contests to Daniel Murphy.
 
Pech and Temple were downed, 8-1, at No. 2 doubles, while Turowski and Zheng fell in a tight 8-6 match at No. 3 doubles.
