TUNKHANNOCK, PA (April 7, 2024) -- The King's College women's golf team opened their spring season slate against the University of Scranton Royals. The Monarchs fell 431-374 at Stonehedge Golf Club on Sunday afternoon.
On the par-71 course, the veteran-heavy squad of Scranton had the top three places on the afternoon. The Royals' Maddy Buhler had a score of 86 (+15) and Alex Schaul followed with 94 (+23). There was a three way tie for Scranton with Victoria Dowling, Lidia Marranca, and Cassie Weir earning a round of 97 (+26) to take third place.
King's
Abby Barlocker (Fy.) posted a score of 99 (+28) for sixth place and
Mady Pendolphi (Jr.) was right behind with a score of 101 (+30). Scranton's Anna Marie carded a 110 (+39) to finish eighth.
Amanda Sokol (So.) carded a round of 115 (+44) with a ninth place finish.
Brighton Wallin (So.) rounded out the Monarchs and posted a score of 116 (+45).
King's will be back on the green with a home opener at Wyoming Valley Country Club on Saturday, April 13
th against Wilkes, FDU-Florham, and Marywood. A scheduled tee time will be at 1 p.m. The team will have a short turnaround as they will travel on Sunday, April 14
th to take on Susquehanna at Valley Country Club with a scheduled tee time of 1 p.m.
