Men’s Swimming Earns Win Over Hood in Quad-Meet

FREDERICK, PA (October 25, 2025) -- The King's College men's swim team picked up a win against host Hood College in their quad- meet with Messiah University and Widener University at the Huntsinger Aquatics Center on Saturday afternoon. The Monarch's defeated Hood 143-80, while falling to Messiah 87-169 and Widener 93-162. The team's record now sits at even 3-3 overall.

King's opened the meet with a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, as the group of Christopher Maciejczyk, Billy Hanson, Matthew Maciejczyk, and David Guillen-Duran swam a time of 2:03.97.

In the first individual event of the day, Guillen-Duran and Stefan Lakoseljac placed eighth and ninth respectively in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Guillen-Duran touched the wall at 2:21.99 and Lakoseljac finished in 2:22.68.

Connor Scheckner picked up a win in the 100-yard backstroke by swimming a time of 54:78. The trio of Kyle McDevitt, Julian Zoquier, and Guillen-Duran claimed the eighth, ninth, and tenth spot in the 100-yard breaststroke. McDevitt touched the block in 1:11.10, Zoquier swam in 1:15.53 and Guillen-Duran ended with a time of 1:21.51.  
M.Maciejczyk and Hanson took sixth and seventh in the 200-yard butterfly, as M.Maciejczyk finished with a time of 2:48.60 and Hanson finishing in 3:07.63.

In the 50-yard freestyle, Chase Kubis placed third in 23.34, while Lakoseljac claimed eighth by swimming a time of 25:50. Christopher Dutko earned ninth touching the wall in 26.26.
Scheckner earned his second win of the day by posting a time of 49.57 in the 100-yard freestyle. Teammates McDevitt and Lakoseljac finished ninth and eleventh respectively, recording times of 56.38 and 58.17.

C.Maciejczyk swam a time of 2:27.16 to claim fourth in the 200-yard backstroke and Kubis placed seventh in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:49.42.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Dutko touched the wall in 5:50.64 to post a fifth place finish. M.Maciejczyk and Hanson posted times of 1:11.36 and 1:13.16 in the 100-yard butterfly to earn ninth and tenth.

Scheckner posted his third victory in the last individual event of the day, finishing in first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:02.59.

The team capped off the meet with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as the squad of Kubis, McDevitt, Dutko, and Scheckner swam a time of 1:33.23, 32 milliseconds ahead of the Widener squad.

The Monarchs return to action next Saturday, taking on Hartwick College and Nazareth University in a tri-meet at the Sally Griffiths Herbert Aquatics Center in Oneonta, NY at 1:00 p.m.
