DALLAS, PA (November 15, 2025) -- The King's College football team concluded the 2025 regular season on Saturday afternoon against Misericordia University, falling 27-21 in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) match-up at Mangelsdorf Field. The Monarchs finish the campaign with a 5-5 overall and 5-4 in the MAC, while the Cougars improve to 7-3 on the season and 7-2 in conference play.
Misericordia came out of the gate with a seven-play, 65-yard drive to the Monarch goal line to open up a 7-0 lead at 11:18 of the first quarter. The King's offense got the ball back at their own 23 and went to their leading rusher,
Brennan Robinson, on three consecutive snaps. The senior running back gained 22 total yards before an MU defender made a leaping interception to return possession to the Cougars.
A 30-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the drive expanded Misericordia's lead to 14-0 with 8:07 remaining in the first.
Monarch quarterback
Jaelin Mims set the tone on the opening snap of the ensuing offensive series, connecting with
Jayon Hailey for a 17-yard pass to the King's 37. The Monarchs continued to fight their way downfield with 10-yard pass completions to
Rob Ford, Robinson and Hailey along with a 12-yard dash by Mims. The offense was undeterred by back-to-back false start penalties and set themselves up in the red zone with just over two minutes to go in the frame.
Tyler Carey capped the drive with a perfectly executed slant route across the middle, finding open space in the end zone and hauling in a short pass from Mims. After a successful PAT by
Aaron Losada, the Monarchs' deficit was cut to seven.
Misericordia responded with a methodical 12-play drive that extended into the second quarter, scoring on their third consecutive possession to build the lead to 21-14.
The Cougars got the ball back at midfield with 5:47 to go in the half, threatening to tack on another score. The Monarch defense held strong, with

James Mangine taking down the MU quarterback for a two-yard loss on the first play of the series.
Nathan Taylor made a stop at the line of scrimmage for no gain, while
Jacob Mullery and
Xander Murray combined to stop another Misericordia rush for no gain one play later.
At their own four-yard line, the Monarch defense made a huge play as Taylor recovered a fumble and flipped possession back to Mims and the offense.
The defense weathered another drive late in the quarter with solo and assisted tackles by Mullery who was joined on a stop by
Jayden Farmer.
Tarylle Stewart and Mangine also teamed up to hold the MU offense to a three-yard gain on a rush.
Rahman Alexander made a crucial pass breakup on 3rd and 7, forcing a 4th down conversion by the Cougars that proved to be unsuccessful.
Misericordia got the ball back with 26 seconds to go in the half and moved the ball all the way to the King's 19-yard line before a two-yard tackle for loss by
Zach Hulsizer forced a 38-yard field goal attempt by the Cougars' kicker. Murray broke through the line of scrimmage and got a hand of the ball for a leaping block that kept the deficit at 14 heading into halftime.
King's opened the second half with a statement possession. Following a short pass to Robinson, Mims fooled the Cougar defense on a play-action, taking advantage of a lapse in the secondary's coverage and connecting with Hailey. The senior turned downfield and raced down the left hash marks into the end zone to bring the Monarchs within seven points of tying the game. With 14:02 still remaining in the third, Misericordia led 21-14.
The Cougars put another score on the board at 8:27 to build their lead back up to two scores, however the extra point attempt was no good. Misericordia attempted to tack on three points with a field goal late in the third, but the kick was tipped by
Rahman Alexander.
Early in the fourth quarter, Mims moved the ball deep into Misericordia territory with a 14-yard pass to Hailey. He put an exclamation point on the drive with a dart to Carey in the end zone to cut the Monarchs' deficit to six. With 13:17 remaining in regulation, the Cougars led 27-21.
King's put up a strong defensive effort in the final frame, returning the ball back to Mims and the offense twice without yielding a point. The Monarch offense threatened to pull ahead late, however a fumble recovery with 30 seconds on the clock sealed the game for Misericordia.
Mims finished with three passing touchdowns and led several efficient drives, while
Brennan Robinson paced the ground game with 70 rushing yards. Carey and Hailey combined for key receptions, and the defense featured standout moments from
