WILKES-BARRE, PA (December 5, 2025) -- The King's College men's swim team earned their second home win of the season, defeating Gallaudet University by a score of 149-31 on Friday evening. The victory puts the Monarchs at an even 6-6 overall this season with a 2-0 record at the Scandlon Natatorium.
The team started off the meet with a strong performance in the 200-yard medley relay, as the squad of
Connor Scheckner,
Chase Kubis,
Stefan Lakoseljac and
Chris Dutko placed first with a time of 1:48.02.
Christopher Maciejczyk and
Matthew Maciejczyk finished first and second respectively in the 1,000-yard freestyle, as C. Maciejczyk swam to the wall in 13:02.5 and M. Maciejczyk touched the block in 14:17.93.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Scheckner qualified for the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships (MAC's) with a winning time of 1:50.18 while teammate Kubis placed second at 2:04.66.
Lakoseljac qualified for MAC's in the 50-yard freestyle by topping the event in 24.26.
David Guillen-Duran and
Noah Dunbar finished behind Lakoseljac by touching the block at 25.88 and 27.06.
Kubis won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:19.84 while
Julian Zoquier claimed second in 2:29.14. In the 100-yard freestyle, Scheckner placed first by swimming to the wall in 55.64.
C. Maciejczyk won his second event of the day in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 1.07.20. Meanwhile, Zoquier earned second with a time of 1:13.76.
Scheckner continued his dominance with another conference-qualifying time in the 500-yard freestyle, claiming first in 5:08.63 and secure his third individual win of the day.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Kubis placed first by swimming to the wall with a personal best time of 1:14.06. Guillen-Duran placed second, touching the block with a personal best time of 1:17.64.
The Monarch's ended the day with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle, as the group of Lakoseljac, Guillen-Duran, Dutko and Kubis swam a time of 1:39.58.
The Monarchs return to the pool tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. to face off against Lycoming College and Penn State Altoona in a tri-meet at the Lamade Gymnasium Natatorium in Williamsport, PA.
