Three Monarchs Place Top Eight for Wrestling at Messiah's Petrofes Invitational

GRANTHAM, PA (December 6, 2025)—The King's College wrestling team wrapped up day two of the Petrofes Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Messiah University. Three Monarchs including Patrick Horvath, Cole Anderson and Jacob Hachtmann each placed in the top eight of their respective weight classes as the Monarchs finished 12th out of 15 teams with a team score of 39.5.

Patrick Horvath – 125 – Eighth Place
In his first matchup of the day, Horvath dropped an 8-0 major decision to Alvernia's Rocco Monteferrante. He then moved on to the seventh-place match against Averett's Dominic Pascoe, where the senior suffered an 11-2 major decision loss to take eighth at 125 lbs.

Cole Anderson – 133 – Sixth Place
Anderson began his day with a highly contested 6-0 decision loss to Esuar Ordonez of Springfield, suffering an injury in the bout. Following this, he was forced to medically forfeit his next match against Torey Falkinburg of Gettysburg, earning sixth at 133 lbs.

Jacob Hachtmann – 174 – Seventh Place
After falling to Alvernia's William Knapp by major decision in his first match, Hachtmann bounced back in a big way, taking down Muhlenberg's Nicholas Stump in a 7-6 decision to claim seventh place at 174 lbs.

The Monarchs return to the mat on Saturday, December 13th as the Monarchs host the King's Duals in McGrane Gymnasium starting at 10:00 a.m.
