WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 25, 2025) --
Amir Samadian clinched the match for the King's College men's tennis team on Friday night as the Monarchs topped the visiting DeSales University, 4-3, in their Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) match. The Monarchs improve to 5-10 overall and 2-3 in the standings, while the Bulldogs drop to 3-13 with a 1-5 conference mark.

Patrick Pech defeated Brent Holzman, 6-3 and 6-0, at No. 2 singles, while
Cody Zheng won a three-set thriller over Reece Stein at No. 3 singles, taking the first 6-2 before falling, 6-4 in the second. Zheng rallied for a 6-1 win in the third to claim the match. Samadian picked up the match-clinching win at No. 5 singles over Frank Boffa, topping the Bulldog 7-6 and 6-4.
Gavin Hall won in extra sets at No. 6 singles over Nicholas Ofak, winning the first 6-4 before dropping the second, 6-4. Hall went on to win the deciding third set, 6-2.

Pech and
Brendan Turowski won the lone doubles match in the contest, 6-3, at No. 2 doubles.

John Toussaint fell at No. 1 singles, 6-1 and 6-2, to Jatin Prabhakar, and Turowski dropped his No. 4 singles match, 6-4 and 6-2, to Zachary Marshall. At No. 1 doubles, Toussaint and Zheng lost, 6-4, while
Jacob Nelson and Samadian were downed 6-3 at No. 3 doubles.

King's will be back in action on Sunday afternoon as they travel to Hoboken, N.J. to take on Stevens at 12:00 p.m.
