HERSHEY, PA (January 10, 2026) -- The King's College women's ice hockey team dropped their Saturday night Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) matchup at the historic Hersheypark Arena to Lebanon Valley College, 10-0. The Monarchs fall to 0-14-0 overall and 0-10-0 in the MAC, while the Flying Dutchmen climb to 12-4-0 on the campaign with an 9-3-0 record in the MAC.
Â
King's was tested immediately as the opening minutes featured sustained pressure in their end, with
Will McPherson called upon early to turn aside multiple shots and steady the game. An early penalty call against the Monarchs put additional strain on the defense, but King's responded with a composed penalty kill highlighted by consecutive blocks from
Brenna Munn and
Amanda Sokol, followed by several key saves from McPherson to keep the game scoreless through the first wave of chances.
Â
King's generated its first push shortly after returning to even strength, with
Emma Heinrich and
Aerie Sanders each creating looks that forced saves, followed by continued pressure off the faceoff circle.
Â
The pace remained high as McPherson continued to answer with timely stops, while the defense battled to take away second-chance opportunities. Midway through the period, King's earned a power play and worked the puck into shooting lanes, though attempts by Sokol and Munn were turned away or blocked before reaching the net.
Â
Momentum briefly swung back the other way late in the period as King's faced another extended defensive sequence. McPherson stood tall through traffic as the blue line contributed multiple blocks to limit clean looks, but the Dutchmen eventually broke through at 15:05 to take a 1-0 lead.
Â
King's regrouped and pushed forward again, yet another penalty late in the period resulted in an LVC power-play goal at 17:48, sending the teams to the intermission with King's trailing 2-0 despite a strong defensive effort and several quality scoring chances.
Â
King's opened the second period with renewed energy and quickly put shots on goal, including chances from
Maddie Vaughan and
Abby Barlocker. McPherson continued to make several consecutive saves during penalty kills, while King's defenders blocked multiple attempts in tight succession, including key stops from
Eva Goner and
Caitlin Dube.
Â
As the game progressed, Lebanon Valley capitalized on sustained offensive-zone time, scoring at 7:45 and again at 9:48 to extend the lead to 4-0. King's answered with one of its best offensive stretches of the night late in the middle frame, firing a sequence of shots from Sokol,
Eva Goner, and Barlocker during a power play that forced repeated saves and blocks.
Â
Despite the pressure, a late LVC goal at 15:32 closed the second period with King's facing a five-goal deficit.
Â
Lebanon Valley held the same offensive pressure entering the third period, scoring at 1:07 of the final frame. King's continued to fight off shots in the defensive zone as
Victoria Fleury-Wright made two blocks and Dube laying out to keep the puck away from McPherson as well.
Â
The Dutchmen continued to pepper the net as the period progressed. Despite a slew of saves by the Monarch netminder, LVC tacked on goals at 10:10, 14:46, 16:19 and 19:40 to close out their decisive win.
Â
Barlocker, and Sokol shared the team lead in shots with three apiece. Heinrich, Munn and
Jerrett Tietz followed with a pair of shots each. Vaughan recorded a team-high six faceoff wins at the dot.
Â
Munn led the Monarchs in blocks for the second game in a row, getting in the way of five scoring opportunities. Between the pipes, McPherson and
Mylei Chowdhry combined for 45 saves.
Â
The Monarchs return home to host Stevenson University in a MAC showdown on Friday, January 16. Puck drop against the Mustangs from the Revolution Ice Centre is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
