Will McPherson has been tabbed as the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Women's Ice Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
This is the first weekly conference award of the sophomore's collegiate career, as well as the first selection the team has received this season.
McPherson opened the week with a 63-save performance in Friday's matchup with the Knights, surpassing 500 career saves in the process.
The North Bay, Ontario native followed that effort with another strong showing on Saturday, turning aside 62 shots as King's earned an overtime point.
Across 122:02 of action, McPherson made 125 saves and allowed just five goals against the MAC's third-highest-scoring offense.
The Monarchs hit the ice on Friday, January 30 to host Alvernia University in a MAC showdown. Puck drop against the Golden Wolves from the Revolution Ice Centre is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
