PITTSON, PA (January 30, 2026) – Fans at the Revolution Ice Centre were witness to a piece of program history on Friday night, as
Abby Barlocker became the career goals leader in the King's College women's ice hockey team's 6-1 loss to Alvernia University. The Monarchs drop to 1-18-0 overall and 1-14-0 in MAC play, while the Golden Wolves improve to 9-8-0 overall and 8-7-0 in the conference.

Goaltender
Hayley Packer started the period strong with two saves, while
Eva Goner blocked a shot to keep the game scoreless. King's was assessed a penalty at 5:20, but Packer posted a pair of saves to keep the game scoreless as the power play expired.

A minute after the penalty concluded, the visitors got on the board to take a 1-0 lead at 8:20. After the goal, Packer showed an impressive defensive performance in the first period, racking up over 14 saves in a span of 10 minutes.

The Golden Wolves were penalized with less than a minute to go in the period, setting the stage for a pivotal Monarch power play.
Abby Barlocker converted on the man advantage with a wrist shot that beat the Alvernia goalie's blocker, leveling the score at 1-1.
Sammi Stead assisted on Barlocker's 17th career goal, surpassing the all-time career goal scoring record which was previously held by Josee Aitken in the process.

Packer accumulated 18 saves in the first period as both teams exited the ice deadlocked at 1-1.

Maddie Vaughan started off the middle frame with an early scoring opportunity just 48 seconds into the period that was denied by Alvernia's goalie.

The Monarchs headed back to the penalty kill just 1:52 into the middle frame. Alvernia had a trio of shots that were saved by Packer and two more that were blocked by
Annie Sommer and Barlocker in the first minute of the power play. The Golden Wolves later extended their lead at 3:18 to take a 2-1 lead.
After four more saves by Packer, the visitors extended their advantage to 3-1 at 5:53. King's continued to keep up a solid defensive performance, as Goner,
Brenna Munn and
Jerrett Tietz each blocked a shot to keep the game at 3-1.

The Golden Wolves converted on another power play at 11:34 to bolster the lead to 4-1.
Will McPherson relieved Packer in net and finished the period with six saves to prevent further damage. Dube, Goner, Sommer, Barlocker, and Van Meer each blocked a shot in the frame to keep King's within three.

A minute into the final period, Alvernia was assessed a minor penalty.
Victoria Fleury-Wright and Tietz each had scoring chances on the power play, but both opportunities were denied by the goaltender.

The Golden Wolves netted in another goal at 3:38, boosting the lead to 5-1. The visitors showed no signs of slowing down, tacking on 11 shots on goal in nearly four minutes.

Stead tried to spark some offensive momentum at 7:57, but her shot was blocked.
Riley Kumrow and Dube both put shots on goal that were turned aside by the goaltender.

Alvernia scored tacked on a sixth goal in the final minutes to seal their 6-1 victory over the Monarchs.

Barlocker capped her record-breaking night with a goal on one shot, winning seven faceoffs and blocking three shots. Stead picked up the lone assist on the goal.

Melanie Baldwin Van Meer, Kumrow and Fleury-Wright shared the team lead with two shots apiece. Vaughan led the team at the faceoff dot with eight wins.
Defensively, the Monarchs got in the way of 20 shots with
Eva Goner recording a team-high five blocks. Packer finished the night with 27 saves while McPherson totaled 21 in the relief appearance as the goaltending duo turned in a combined 48-save performance.

King's returns to action tomorrow to take on Hood College at Skate Frederick. Puck drop against the Blazers is set for 7:00 p.m.
