EDWARDSVILLE, PA (October 1, 2026) -- The King's College women's tennis team opened dual-match play on Thursday afternoon with a 6-1 setback to Lycoming College at Kirby Park. The Monarchs begin the dual season at 0-1, while the Warriors even their record at 4-4.

Monica Stratton battled at No. 1 singles but fell by a 6-3, 6-0 score.
Emma Bak turned in a strong effort at No. 2 singles before dropping a 6-1, 6-4 decision, while
Kimberly Dinh was defeated 6-2, 6-2 in the third flight.

Sophia Kalinowski earned four games in the second set of a 6-2, 6-4 loss at No. 4 singles, and
Allison Van Pelt fell 6-2, 6-0 in the fifth position. Madison Brown provided the Monarchs' lone point of the afternoon, earning a victory by forfeit at No. 6 singles.

In doubles action, the No. 1 tandem of Stratton and Bak dropped a 6-3 decision. Dinh and Brown were defeated 6-2 at No. 2 doubles, while Van Pelt and Kalinowski picked up a victory by forfeit in the third flight.

King's will wrap up its fall schedule on Saturday, October 17, when the Monarchs welcome Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom opponent Stevens to Kirby Park. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
