WILKES-BARRE,PA(April 24, 2026)-- On Friday afternoon, the King's College softball team honored its seven graduating players -

Breanna Goldspiel,
Colleen Shuler,
Paige Bergan,
Madisyn vonFrisch,
Ellie Higdon, and
Brianna Kesslick - ahead of the season finale MAC Freedom doubleheader against Delaware Valley. The Monarchs fell 10-0 in five innings and 5-3 to move to 12-26 overall and 3-11 in MAC Freedom play, while the Aggies improved to 29-9 overall and 8-6 in the conference.

Game 1: L, 10-0 (5 inn.)
Delaware Valley broke a scoreless game in the second with a two‑run triple to center after back‑to‑back singles extended the inning. The visitors added a run in the third on a single through the right side and pushed the lead to 4–0 in the fourth with three straight baserunners and an RBI single up the middle.

King's generated its best chance in the bottom of the fourth as
Paige Bergan reached on an error and
Ellie Higdon followed with a single to right to put runners on the corners with one out. The Aggies found their way out of the jam with a pair of groundouts to end the inning.

Delaware Valley then came away with a six‑run fifth, capitalizing on four straight baserunners, an infield RBI bunt, a defensive miscue that allowed two runs to score, and a three‑run homer to left. The Monarchs were unable to overcome the deficit as the Aggies took game one in five innings.

King's recorded two hits in the contest, coming from Higdon and
Kara Krouse, while the Monarchs put runners on in the second, fourth, and fifth innings but were unable to bring them in to score.

Game 2: L, 5-3
King's opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the first, taking advantage of two early errors before
Madison Badali drove a two‑run single to left center to put the Monarchs ahead 2-0. Delaware Valley then loaded the bases with no outs, but the Monarchs were able to limit the Aggies to a run to hold a 2-1 advantage.

King's threatened again in the third as
Breanna Goldspiel singled and advanced to third on a sacrifice and groundout, but the Aggies were able to escape the threat. The Monarchs kept the lead intact through the fourth as the defense handled three straight innings without allowing a run.

Delaware Valley moved in front with a two‑run fifth, using an error and three singles to tie the game before a single to right made it 3-2 in favor of the Aggies.

King's answered in the sixth when
Molly Veach walked, moved to second on a wild pitch, and scored on a
Liz Wilson RBI fielder's choice to even the game at 3-3. The Monarchs put two more runners on with no outs, but an unsuccessful squeeze play at the plate and a double play ended the inning.

Delaware Valley regained the lead in the seventh with a leadoff double, a bunt single, and an RBI single to center before a sacrifice fly made it 5-3. King's brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom half after Goldspiel reached on an error, but the Aggies were able to keep the Monarchs at bay and secure the 5-3 win.

At the plate, King's recorded four hits, led by Goldspiel (2-for-4) and Badali (2-for-3, 2 RBI). Veach walked twice and scored a run, while Wilson added an RBI.

Alyssa Fox went the distance, allowing 13 hits and two earned runs across 7.0 innings with one walk and one strikeout on 119 pitches.
