Women’s Tennis Battles Wilkes in Friday Matchup

EDWARDSVILLE, PA (April 24, 2026) -- The King's College women's tennis team continued  down the stretch spring schedule on Friday afternoon, falling 7-0 to Wilkes University at the Ralston Athletic Complex. The Monarchs move to 0-12 on the season, while the Colonels improve to 10-8.
 
Singles play featured one of the closest matches of the afternoon at the top of the lineup. Carlee Dellose opened at No. 1 singles and pushed Isabel Schreffler through a competitive first set before dropping a 7-6 decision. Schreffler followed with a 6-3 second‑set win to secure the point.
 
At No. 2 singles, Betsy Allen was defeated 6-1, 6-1 by Julia Spaeth. Kimberly Dinh fell 6-0, 6-0 to Kensington Edmond at No. 3, while Miley Caetano dropped a 6-0, 6-0 match to Ava Vacula at No. 4. Madeline Sirianni followed at No. 5 singles, falling 6-0, 6-0 to Wanda Owens. The final singles point came at No. 6, where Allison Van Pelt suffered a 6-1, 6-0 loss to Eva Winters.
 
Doubles play wrapped up the afternoon with Wilkes sweeping all three pairings. Dellose and Dinh dropped a 6-0 decision at No. 1 doubles to Ana Savkovic and Julia Spaeth. At No. 2 doubles, Allen and Caetano fell 6-0 to Breanna Herdine and Owens. The No. 3 pairing saw Sirianni and Van Pelt drop a 6-2 result to Rebecca Gula and Winters.
 
The Monarchs conclude the 2026 spring season on Saturday, May 3 in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom matchup at FDU-Florham. First serve against the Devils is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
