WILKES-BARRE, PA (June 30, 2026) -- The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) continued its rollout of the 2026 Academic All-MAC teams Tuesday morning, with King's College goaltender Will McPherson earning a spot on the Women's Ice Hockey Academic All-MAC Team.

A total of 10 women's ice hockey student-athletes from across the MAC were recognized for their academic and athletic excellence. The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight to both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a spring semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.

McPherson earned Academic All-MAC recognition following a strong season between the pipes, appearing in 15 games with 13 starts for the Monarchs. The North Bay, Ontario native, who was also named an All-MAC Honorable Mention, led the MAC with 660 saves and 44.0 saves per game while posting a .927 save percentage, which ranked fourth in the conference. McPherson recorded six games with 50 or more saves, including three performances with 60-plus stops, highlighted by a season-high 69-save effort against Wilkes. The netminder also earned MAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after totaling 125 saves in a two-game stretch against Arcadia in January.

An exercise science major, McPherson also excelled in the classroom, posting a 3.85 GPA during the spring semester while earning CSC Academic All-District® honors.
