WILKES-BARRE, PA (July 1, 2026) -- The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) continued its rollout of the 2026 Academic All-MAC teams Wednesday morning, with King's College All-American Brandy Varner earning a spot on the Women's Indoor Track & Field Academic All-MAC Team.

A total of 10 women's indoor track & field student-athletes from across the MAC were recognized for their academic and athletic excellence. The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight to both academic and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a spring semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.

Varner earns her second Academic All-MAC honor following a historic senior campaign that saw the standout thrower garner First Team All-MAC recognition and MAC Women's Field Athlete of the Year honors, along with USTFCCCA All-Region accolades in both the weight throw and shot put. Varner earned USTFCCCA First Team All-American honors in the weight throw and Second Team All-American status in the shot put, becoming the first student-athlete in program history to earn multiple All-American honors in the same season.

The Plymouth, PA native recorded a program-record throw of 17.64 meters to place seventh in the weight throw, while also finishing ninth in the shot put (13.30 meters) at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. She posted runner-up finishes in both events at the AARTFC Championships. Varner captured MAC Indoor titles in the weight throw (17.12 meters) and shot put (13.65 meters), while owning each of the top five marks in program history in the weight throw.

A biology and secondary education major, Varner also excelled in the classroom, posting a 3.44 GPA during the spring semester.
