King's College Athletics

Joining the King’s coaching staff will be 2009 Monarch team co-captain Alex Watty.  
 
Watty will serve as a student coach this season after starting the past season at defensive tackle for King’s. Playing his junior year with two bad shoulders that would require surgery, Watty made the difficult decision to bypass his senior year on the field to avoid any long-term damage to his shoulders.
 
As a player, Watty made his mark felt as the team’s emotional leader.  A three-year starter, Watty concluded his career with 124 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, three fumble recoveries, and one interception. He was honored as a junior by being named to the All-Middle Atlantic Conference second-team. Additionally, he ws a two-time MAC All-Academic selection.
 
He served on King’s football team’s Leadership Council in which players addressed issues within the program.
