Returning to his alma-mater as a full-time assistant coach is former King's football standout Edwyn Edwards.

A 2011 graduate, Edwards is back at King's where he will take over as coach of the secondary while also serving as the team's recruiting coordinator.

Edwards enjoyed a fine career as a safety for the Monarchs despite battling injuries his final two years.  As a freshman in 2007, he played in all 10 games and made 16 tackles while starting the
final three contests. As a sophomore he started all 10 games and posted 26 tackles with an interception. Edwards, however, would suffer a season-ending injury prior to the season and missed the entire 2009 campaign. He returned to his starting safety role as a senior team captain and made 53 tackles with two interceptions before suffering another injury which forced him to miss the final three games of his career.

After graduating from King's Edwards attended graduate school at Anna Maria College (MA) where he served two years as secondary coach before being promoted to Defensive Coordinator. After two years as the team's D.C., he moved on to Salve Regina University (RI) where he coached the running backs and tight ends during the 2016 season.

He has also served as a Team USA Football Coach since 2013  where he has worked with high school players from around the country.

Edwards owns a Bachelor of Arts degree from King's in Criminal Justice and a Master's degree in Pastoral Ministry from Anna Maria.

A highly-respected leader at King's, Edwards was a eight-time Dean's List student and was inducted into the Aquinas Honor Society and the Sociology Honor Society.  He was a member of Student Government and the Student Athlete Athletic Council.
