Assistant coach Frank Berardelli is in his first season with the Monarch staff and is coach of the running backs.  Berardelli comes to King’s after serving as head football coach at Tunkhannock Area High School the past three seasons.


Berardelli is 1984 graduate of Scranton Central High School where he was a two-time Big 11 Conference first-team selection as well as being named to the 1983 “Lineman of the Year”.  He then received a football scholarship to attend NCAA Division IAA power University of Delaware and earned two varsity letters before suffering a career-ending injury as a senior. 


He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Delaware in 1989 and later received a Master of Science degree in Biology from East Stroudsburg University.


Berardelli began his coaching career in 1989 as an assistant at Scranton Central and moved on to Abington Heights High School in 1991-92. He was then elevated to head coach at Abington Heights for the1993 season.
            
Berardelli then left coaching until assuming the offensive and defensive line coach position at Scranton Prep from 2000-06 and was the defensive coordinator in from 2005-06. He then moved on to Tunkhannock as offensive coordinator while also coaching the offensive and defensive line.  Berardelli was then elevated to head coach at Tunkhannock where he oversaw the varsity, junior varsity, freshmen, and seventh and eighth grade teams from 2008-10.

           
He and his wife Lisa are married for 21 years and are the parents of two children, Dylan (16) and Sierra (14).  He is a teacher in the Old Forge School District.
