John Scalzo, a 2010 King's graduate, will enter his second season as an assistant coach with the Monarchs and is responsible for the tight ends.
Scalzo was a four-year member of the Monarch squad where he played on the offensive line but was hampered by injuries for part of his career. He missed his entire junior year with a back injury but fought back to earn quality playing time on the O-Line as a senior. He served on King’s football team’s Leadership Council in which players addressed issues within the program.
He also was involved in the community, participating three years in “Bowl for Kids Sake” as well as City Serve. Scalzo earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology in 2010.
