VINCENT PECORA

Biography

Vincent Pecora enters his eighth year as Assistant Director of Sports Information and 12th overall working at King's, assuming his current position in July of 2014.

Pecora is a 2009 King's College graduate, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration with a minor in marketing. While at King's, he was a four-year member of the cross country team and was a Middle Atlantic Conference All-Academic Team selection. As a senior, he was presented the Monarch Merit Award for combined excellence in academics and athletics.

He was a member of King's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee from 2007-2009 and served as SAAC President as a senior during the 2008-09 academic year. In addition, Pecora attended the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Leadership Conference in 2008. He was also his Senior Class Representative in King's Student Government in 2008-09.

After graduating from King’s, Pecora worked at Hunter College (NY) as an Athletic Department Intern from September 2009 to August 2010, where he also worked in the sports information office. At Hunter, Pecora was responsible for the management of on campus bulletin boards keeping them updated with information for varsity sports, intramurals, and recreation.

He assisted with writing news releases, compiling sports statistics, photography and video of athletic teams and events, and assisting in maintaining the Hunter athletics website.  Pecora also oversaw the day to day operations of recreation and intramurals including locker room management, inventory, and served as a supervisor for student workers.

While at Hunter, Pecora also served as the College's Marketing Intern for American Collegiate Intramural Sports (ACIS) where he was responsible for executing ACIS sponsored events and promotions on campus. In the summer of 2012, Pecora returned to Hunter and worked as a summer equipment assistant where he was responsible for the inventory of all uniforms, practice gear, and equipment. He also developed the reorganization of the equipment room and storage closet.

In 2010, Pecora returned to King's as an Athletic Department Assistant and Cross Country Assistant Coach. Pecora was responsible for ticket sales at all home ticket selling events, supervising student workers, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the department.

Pecora was also an assistant coach for the cross country team where he was responsible for the registration of the team into meets, recording times at the meets, and for assisting at daily practices including the setup of workouts. He also aided the King's sports information office on a part-time basis where he helped compile game statistics during a variety of home contests.  

While at King’s Pecora entered graduate school and received his Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from King’s in May, 2013. After receiving his Master’s degree Pecora left the Cross Country staff and took a position as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at King’s. As a member of the Women’s Basketball Staff he has assisted in the daily running of practice, editing and reviewing film, recruiting prospective athletes and individual workouts with athletes during the season.

Pecora, an active member of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America), is an avid sports fan who has worked many athletic events including the 2011 Division III ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the NYC Armory; the 2012 NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Tournament First and Second Rounds at King’s; the 2013 NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Tournament First Round at King’s; the 2014 NCAA Division III East Regional Wrestling Championship at King’s; along with numerous regular season and conference championship events during his time at both Hunter College and King’s College. He also worked timing for numerous track and field meets at Icahn Stadium during the spring and summer of 2010. 

He is a native of Highland Park, N.J. and a 2005 graduate of Immaculata High School.
