Biography

Brian Paredes enters his second season as an assistant coach in 2019. Paredes came to King's after graduating from Long Island University Brooklyn in the spring of 2018.

  • Member of the men's soccer team all four years at LIU Brooklyn
  • Played in 50 total matches during his four-year career including 31 starts, He recorded two points with one goal on 11 shots including three shots on goal
  • As a freshman in 2014 he was one of the top first year players in the Northeast Conference appearing in 15 matches and starting 14 of those as a defender. He had the fifth-most minutes played on the team and recorded 11 complete matches for the Blackbirds
  • As a sophomore defender in 2015, Paredes saw action in 14 matches including four starts. He helped the Blackbirds record an 11-5-5 overall record, go 7-0 in conference play, and win the Northeast Conference Tournament to qualify for the NCAA College Cup where the team was eliminated in the First Round on penalty kicks to #23 Rutgers
  • Appeared in 12 matches including seven starts as a junior defender in 2016. He scored his first collegiate goal in the Blackbirds' 7-2 victory over Central Connecticut 
  • Named a captain as a senior in 2017 and played 12 matches, including 10 starts as a defender. He helped lead the Blackbirds to a 6-9-3 overall record and 4-2-1 mark in conference play where the team fell to top-seeded St. Francis College Brooklyn in the NEC Tournament Final
  • During his time at LIU Brooklyn Paredes also played for FC Buffalo in the NPSL for two years
  • Selected to represent the Midwest Conference in the 2018 NPSL Player Showcase
  • Prior to his time in Buffalo he played for and was named a captain of the PDL Westchester Flames for two seasons
  • In the summer of 2019 was a member of Reading United in the USL League 2. The United mae it all the way to the championship match falling 1-0 to Flint City Bucks
  • Graduated from Newtown High School in his hometown of Queens, NY where he was named to the All-Queens team by Queens Times Ledger
