Biography

Mark Bassett was introduced as the first full-time head coach in program history in 2006 and will enter his 15th season in 2020. He has transformed the program into an annual MAC Freedom Tournament participant.

At King's Head Coach
  • Bassett has led the Monarchs to the MAC Freedom Tournament 10 times including each of the past eight seasons.
  • Guided King’s to a MAC Freedom Championship and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament in 2013 and 2014.
  • Won the ECAC Southeast Regional Tournament in 2008.
  • Has posted 10 or more wins in 11 seasons.
  • Overall record of 159-89-28 while posting a 55-34-9 record in MAC Freedom play and 0-1-1 record in the NCAA Tournament.
Program Milestones
  • Led program to first-ever MAC Freedom Championship and NCAA Tournament berth in 2013; Earned second conference title and NCAA Tournament berth in 2014.
  • In just second season earned the program’s second-ever runner-up finish in MAC Freedom Tournament
  • Won a program record 16 games and won the ECAC Southeast Regional Championship in 2008.
  • Earned the program’s first-ever top seed in the MAC Freedom Tournament while winning a program record 16 games in 2015.
  • 2019: Extended MAC Freedom Tournament appearances streak to eight, longest in program history.
