LISA GIGLIELLO

Biography

Lisa Gigliello was named as the head coach for the King’s College softball team prior to the start of the 1993-94 season, and she just completed her 34th season at the head of the program at the end of the 2025 season. Gigliello has built not only one of the top softball programs in the region, but a program recognized for its numerous NCAA Division III National Tournament appearances. She currently ranks in the top-15 among active NCAA Division III head coaches with over 700 wins and among the top-60 in winning percentage.

At King's Head Coach

  • Led King’s to a post-season tournament berth in 1996, from 2000-2018, and again from 2021-23.
  • Doubled the Monarchs win total in her first season in 1993.
  • In 1996, Gigliello led King’s to its first-ever post-season playoff berth.
  • In 2000, Gigliello led King’s to its finest season ever when the Monarchs captured the MAC Freedom championship, the MAC overall title, and advanced to the NCAA Division III National Tournament for the first time in school history with a program-best 38-6 mark.
  • Earned her 700th career victory on April 16 with the MAC Freedom doubleheader sweep at DeSales.
  • Led the Monarchs to a sixth consecutive MAC Freedom title and advanced to within one game of the College World Series in 2005.
  • Posted a total of 138 Monarchs to the MAC/Freedom All-Star Team, 45 NCAA East Regional All-Americans, and 176 MAC Academic Honor Roll honorees.
  • Career mark of 721-404-2 overall, 304-154 in the MAC/Freedom, and 14-22 in the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
Program Milestones
  • Led the Monarchs to 23 postseason appearances, including 19 straight from 2000-2018.
  • First-ever playoff-berth in 1996 and first-ever 20-win campaign in 1997.
  • First-ever program Eastern College Athletic Conference Southern Region championship in 1998.
  • Led the Monarchs to six-consecutive MAC Freedom titles from 2000-2005 and eight-straight NCAA Division III National Tournament berths from 2000-2007.
  • Recorded their 10th MAC Freedom title in program-history and reached their 11th NCAA National Tournament berth in 2011.

Personal
  • 1985 Graduate of Wilkes University with a degree in electrical engineering and physics as well as an MBA.
  • Two-time MAC All-Star, MAC title winner, and was part of a Colonels softball program that was ranked 10th in the nation.
  • Was awarded the Wilkes Senior Student-Athlete Award for academic and athletic success.
  • Inducted into the Wilkes University Athletic Hall of Fame.
  • Recognized on the MAC 100 Softball Century team for her athletic and academic successes at Wilkes.
  • Graduate of local Pittston Area High School where she was a three-sport athlete in softball, basketball, and volleyball and earned All-Star honors in both basketball and softball.
  • Named the Dallas Kiwanis All-Star Softball Game MVP and received the Pittston Dispatch Scholar-Athlete Award.
  • Seven-time medalist in the Keystone State Games.
  • Has been a player/manager on seven ASA PA state championship summer league teams, as well as playing/managing on two other state title teams which have been ranked 13th in the nation, including Women's Fast Pitch, Women's Slow Pitch, and Co-ed Slow Pitch. Her teams have also won over 35 league championships.
