PERSONAL: Daughter of Bridget and Keith Almon ... has one younger sibling, Paige ... cousin, Bill Almon, was the 1974 first overall pick in the MLB amateur draft and played 15 years with eight teams spending six years with the San Diego Padres, three years with the Pittsburgh Pirates, two years each with the New York Mets, Oakland Athletics, and Chicago White Sox, and a year each with the Philadelphia Phillies and Montreal Expos after a very successful collegiate career at Brown University ... an athletic training major ... chose King's because "of the strong academics and the opportunity to pursue my dream of playing college hockey with an amazing group of girls."
