Jacob Janes was named as a new assistant coach for the Monarchs in 2019. Janes will join assistant coaches John Perez and Christian Mazzocchi and head coach Adam Healey bringing more than a few years of experience to the team as both a wrestler and coach.
Janes previously served as volunteer wrestling coach at Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, MO in 2017 and as the head freshmen wrestling coach at St. Charles West High School in St. Charles, MO from 2014-2016.
From 2007 to 2009 Janes placed in the Missouri State Wrestling Tournament, twice in third and once in sixth while becoming the 140-pound Missouri State Champion in 2010. He was also a third place National Collegiate Wrestling Association All-American in 2012 and a fifth place in 2013. Janes holds seven wrestling records at Hannibal High School.
The Missouri native graduated from Lindenwood University in 2015 with a BFA in Painting/Drawing and even spent 2016 and 2017 in Senegal, West Africa as a member of the Peace Corps.
