MONARCH MEN EARN 93-79 WIN OVER ARCADIA

John Soboleski led a balanced attack with 18 points and seven rebounds and the King's College men's basketball team placed four players in double-figures scoring as the Monarchs posted a 93-79 victory over Arcadia University Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium.
With the win, King's improved to 10-7 overall and 3-2 in Freedom Conference play while Arcadia slipped to 7-9 and 2-3 in league games.
King's jumped out to a quick 10-4 lead thanks to four points from Soboleski and a three-pointer by
Vince Scalzo, but the Knights would used a 13-4 spurt to take a 17-14 lead on a Sterling Green three-pointer with 13:38 left in the half.
The Monarchs would respond with a 16-8 spurt and took a 33-22 advantage on a three-pointer by
Jim Welsh with 7:05 on the clock. Arcadia would counter with a 15-8 run to cut the lead to 41-37 when Kevin Brown made the first of two foul shots with 1:16 left in the opening stanza. The Monarchs would use a bucket down low by Soboleski with 0:57 left to take a 43-37 lead at the half.
King's would quickly add to its lead in the second half when a 13-4 surge would result in a 56-41 lead with 15:03 remaining after a three-pointer from
Kofi Dwebeng, and buckets by
Jamie Cousart and Soboleski.
The Monarchs eventually built its biggest lead of the game when Welsh hit a three-pointer and
Ryan Nenstiel made four consecutive foul shots after a pair of back-to-back Arcadia technical fouls to up the King's advantage to 77-52 with 8:06 on the clock. After King's coach J.P. Andrejko pulled his starters, the Knights would come draw to within 90-77 on a three-pointer by Durell Mills with 0:51 remaining.
Soboleski was 8-of-10 from the field and added two assists and two blocked shots. Welsh followed with 16 points, including four three-pointers, Nenstiel added 13 points while Cousart tallied 11 points, eight assists, and six rebounds. Scalzo and
Jim Schule netted seven points each while Dwebeng and Conroy chipped in with seven points apiece.
Arcadia was led by Bobby Mullholland with 18 points while Eric Elliot and Green scored 15 and 14 points respectively. Glen Gagnon also reached twin figures with 10 points.
