KING'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO DESALES, 3-2
WILKES-BARRE -- Defending Freedom Conference champion DeSales University used a decisive 7-2 run in the fifth game to post a 3-2 victory over host King's College in an important Freedom Conference match Wednesday in Scandlon Gymnasium.
DeSales won by scores of 24-26, 25-12, 25-21, 24-26, 15-10 to secure the victory.
With the win, DeSales improved to 12-8 overall and 3-1 in Freedom Conference play. King's slipped to 14-6 and 2-2.
King's was led by
Kat Clerici with16 kills and five total blocks.
Kaitlyn Malshefski followed with 12 kills and 16 digs.
Danielle Belfanti tallied 35 digs while
Samantha Garrigues distributed 43 assists and eight digs.
Katie Doss contributed 11 kills and 12 digs while
Shannon Ellis posted 20 digs.
King's returns to action Saturday with a tri-meet at SUNY Cobleskill, along with Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
