Late Dan Carle Goal Boosts Monarchs

KING'S COLLEGE SOCCER DOWNS FDU, 2-1

WILKES-BARRE -- Dan Carle scored the game winning goal with 4:56 remaining as the King's College men's soccer team posted a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over FDU-Florham Saturday evening at Betzler Fields.

With the win, King's improved to 11-1-2 overall and 1-1-1 in Freedom Conference play.  FDU, meanwhile, slipped to 3-9 and 1-2 in league games.

FDU would take a 1-0 lead at 27:33 of the first half when Brian Hurkey knocked in a rebounded shot.

King's would tie the score with 19:29 left in the contest when Cameron Audette converted on a penalty kick.

King's would push across the game winner when Mark Timko drilled a shot at FDU keeper Kevin  Herbert. The ball would carom out to King's sophomore Dan Carle who drilled a shot into the back of the net with 4:56 left in the contest.

King's held a 12-8 advantage in shots. Monarch keeper Tim Kelly made four saves while Herbet had two stops for the Devils

King's will travel to face Misericordia University Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in Dallas.
