LADY MONARCHS TAKE DOWN ALBRIGHT 3-2
WILKES-BARRE--- Sophomore
Colleen Grosenick scored 15 straight service points in the fifth game to help the King's College volleyball team finished their regular season on a high note, winning 3-2 (25-10, 23-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-0) over visiting Albright College Saturday afternoon at Scandlon Gymnasium. With the win, King's improves to 21-8 overall before heading into the first round of the MAC Conference Tournament.
The Monarch offense was paced by junior
Kat Clerici, who knocked down 17 kills on the day. Senior
Nadya Alboschy had a solid final home game, registering four kills and 10 digs. She also tallied seven service points, including one ace.
Katie Doss played a good match as well, scoring 10 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore
Emily Kline aided the team, scoring six kills and two assisted blocks and one solo block. At the net, sophomore
Samantha Garrigues scored 39 assists and grabbed four digs and 11 service points.
On the back line,
Danielle Belfanti continued to dominate, picking up 21 digs and scoring eight service points. From the service line, Sophomore
Colleen Grosenick stole the show with 20 service points, including the 15 point run in the fifth game to give King's the win.
The fifth seeded Lady Monarchs will be back in action Monday night when they travel across town to face the fouth seed Wilkes University. The match is set to start at 7:00pm in the Marts Center.
