#1 Men's Soccer Hosting #8 Widener in ECAC Tournament

MONARCHS TO HOST WIDENER IN ECAC GAME
 
WILKES-BARRE--- After finishing their season 13-1-5, the men's soccer team found themselves on the outside looking in on the MAC Freedom Conference playoffs, despite just one loss all year. But it was announced on Monday afternoon that the Monarchs would get a chance to extend their season when they were chosen to play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Regional Tournament as the top-seed and the chance to host. King's will be hosting the Widener University Pride Wednesday evening at 7:00pm at McCarthy Stadium.
 
With a win, the Monarchs would host the semi-finals on Saturday and the finals on Sunday, with the game time to be determined.
 
Ticket prices have been set at $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students, while children under age-six shall be admitted free of charge.

The other three games in the first round will be second-seeded Frostburg State (13-4-1) hosting seventh-seeded Washington and Jefferson (9-7-4), the third seed Catholic University (12-6) will entertain sixth-seeded Wesley College (11-7-3) and fifth-seeded Wilkes (10-8-2) will be on the road at fourth seed Penn State Behrend (13-7-1).
 
The Monarchs' offense is led by senior forward Cameron Audette, who has scored 18 goals and eight assists, totaling an impressive 44 points. Senior Mark Timko has seven goals and four assists for 18 points. Freshman Joe Bender has tallied four goals and six assists for 14 points while fellow freshman Billy Elliott has 11 points on five goals and one assist. Sophomore Dan Carle rounds out the offense threat with four goals and three assists for 11 points as well.
 
Standing in the goal for King's is sophomore Tim Kelly, who has played in 16 games, starting in 15 of those contests. In that time, he has played in 1,465 minutes making 65 saves and holding opponents to just 1.1 goals per game.
 
On the Widener side of the ball, Bill James leads the scoring with five goals and two assists for 12 points. Also with 12 points is Preston Dudley who is balanced with four goals and four assists. Brian James rounds out the scoring threat, netting three goals and four assists, totaling 10 points. In the net for the Pride, Hamed Correa and Marty Squicciarini have both seen significant time, Correa playing in 1,166 minutes while Squicciarini has seen 705 minutes. Corra leads in saves, making 70 to Squicciarini's 41.
