MEN'S BASKETBALL ON THE ROAD AT FDU-FLORHAM
(Looking to extend 18 game win-streak over FDU)
 
WILKES-BARRE--- The 2008-2009 Monarch basketball team will be traveling to Madison, NJ to face the Devils of FDU-Florham, their second conference opponents in as many games. King's, now 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference after a tough 80-71 loss to rival Wilkes, is averaging 73.5 points-per-game, while the Devils are 1-4 and are also 0-1 in the Freedom and allow 77.6 points per contest.
 
Ticket prices for the match-up are set at $5 dollars for adults and $3 for students.

In the two game series last season, King's took FDU down both times, with scores of 74-58 and 97-54. The last time the Monarchs fell to the Devils of FDU-Florham/Madison was January 23, 1999 by a score of 60-69. King's has won the last 18 straight games over FDU.
 
For the Monarchs, sophomore forward Kevin Conroy leads the scoring efforts, picking up 14.8 points, including a career-high 26-point night against Wilkes, and grabs 4.3 rebounds a match. Junior guard/forward Jim Schule is also big on the Monarch offense, putting up 12.0 points a game and 3.7 rebounds. Schule is tough on defense, grabbing 11 steals on the year, as well as four blocks. Junior guard Mike Wagner averages 10.8 points a game, and leads the regular starters in field goal percentage with 51.2. Freshman Chase McGowan is pacing the Monarchs in rebounds, grabbing 5.5 a contest, as well as 8.5 points. Off the bench, freshman guard/forward Nick Reisig has made a big contribution from beyond the three-point arc, going 50.0 percent, burying 10-of-20. Reisig is also the leading shooter, draining 53.1 percent of his shots while averaging 8.2 points a game and second on the team with 16 assists.

The Devils scoring threat is lead by senior guard Ryan McPherson, who puts up 19.4 points a game and is shooting 46.7 from the field. Sophomore center Ricky Fetske is shooting a solid 62.5 (20-32) percent and averages 13.6 points a game, as well as 8.0 rebounds and has posted 10 blocks on the season. Freshman guard Adam Katz puts up 12.2 points a game and is 9-of-21 from beyond the three for 42.9 (9-20) percent. Sophomore forward George Twill is shooting at a monster 67.9 percent, hitting 19-of-28 shots for 11.3 points per game.
 
As a team, FDU is putting up 68.2 points per game, while allowing 77.6, and the Devils grab 35.4 rebounds per game.
