WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS AT THE HANDS OF FDU
MADISON, NJ--- Host FDU-Florham had three players put up double digits in points as the Devils posted a 60-34 victory over King's College Saturday in Madison, NJ.
FDU's Emily Cerankowski lead all scorers with 23 points. With the loss, King's falls to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the Freedom Conference while the Devils improve to 5-3 and 1-1 in the league.
Monarch guard Kaitlyn Fiorino leads the team in points, putting up 13. Freshman Brittany Muscatell finished the game with two offensive and five defensive rebounds for a total of seven.
Shooting problems plagued King's, which shot just 21.1 (12-57) percent from the field, and 12.0 (3-25) from deep. Free throws also hurt the Monarchs for the second straight game, hitting 7-of-12 for 58.3 percent.
On the FDU side of the ball, Cerankowski picked up 23 points, and Shealyn Taggart and Danielle Michlovsky both added 10 points. Courtney Young lead both teams in rebounding, picking up 10 boards, including nine on defense.
The Lady Monarchs will be idle this coming week as the college enters finals week for the fall semester. Their next game will be home on Saturday the 13th when they host the Lady Warriors of Lycoming College. Tip-off is set for 1:00pm.
