WYCHOCK LIFTS KING'S OVER RANKED ETOWN
WILKES-BARRE --
Debbie Wychock's second half goal lifted the King's College Monarchs to a win over #13 Elizabethtown. Wychock scored at 54:03 in the second half when
Danielle Terracciano sent in a pass from the top of the box. The win improves King's to 8-0 on the season.
Elizabethtown drew first blood 24:51 into the match. Katy Boone scored on a penalty corner in a confusion in front of the goal. The Blue Jays would control the pace for most of the first half, taking eight shots. Foward Liz DeMatteis lead the Jays in shooting with four shots on the day.
Sophomore
Candice Russ scored the equalizer 32:12 into the first half to send King's into half time with all the momentum coming from the late goal. Wychock tallied her only assist on the day, giving her a hand in each goal scored by King's.
In the second half, the tides changed, with King's out shooting Elizabethtown 7-3. King's ended the day with twelve shots, forcing the Blue Jays' goalie Liz Hannegan to make 8 saves. Elizabethtown took 11 shots, allowing
Erin McGinley to make 7 saves.
The Lady Monarchs will be back in action again on September 23rd when the travel to Grantham, PA to take on currently #4 ranked Messiah College.
