LADY MONARCHS OVERPOWER EASTERN 74-59
ST. DAVIDS, PA --- Senior forward
Kaitlyn Fiorino blew up against the Eagles of Eastern University, and led all scorers with 26 points, including five from beyond in a 74-59 Lady Monarch conference victory.
With the win, King's improves to 6-9 overall and are now 4-2 in the Freedom league, while Eastern slips to 3-6 on the year and 0-4 in conference play.
Freshman guard
Brittany Muscatell helped boost the Monarchs to a commanding 44-27 halftime lead by scoring all 15 of her points in the first half. Also chipping in on the scoreboard throughout were junior forward
Kaitlyn Malshefski with nine points, and the triple combination of junior guard
Jessica Paettie, sophomore forward
Sarah O'Doherty and junior guard Kristina Durako, who each put up six points to aide King's in the win.
The top player for Eastern was team-high scorer freshman forward Bekah Roland, who scored 18. Adding to the cause were junior guard Joelle DeCarlo with 13 points and junior forward Hannah Tobin with nine.
The Lady Monarchs will be back on the home court this weekend when they host the Valiants of Manhattanville College Saturday afternoon for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off in the Scandlon Gymnasium.
