KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO DELAWARE VALLEY COLLGE, 3-2 IN OVERTIME
DOYLESTOWN, PA - - Dana Gentile scored two goals, including the game-winning goal to help lead the Aggies to the 3-2 overtime victory in Doylestown on Saturday.
With the win Delaware Valley College improves to 1-8 overall and a 1-1 record in the Freedom Conference, while King's drops to 4-9 with a 0-2 conference mark.
After a scoreless first half Caitlin McQueen would connect from an assist from Ashley Gagliano in the first goal for Delaware Valley in the 39:30 minute mark of the second half. Dana Gentile would then score a goal in the 28:59 minute mark to make the score 2-0 in favor of the Aggies.
Becky Chateauneuf would cut into the lead with a goal in the 25:30 minute mark for the Lady Monarchs. Jade Zuniga would then tie the game in the 14:04 mark with the assist from Katie Mangan.
Two teams went into overtime when Gentile would score the game winner with 5:29 minute mark of overtime.
DVC had the edge on shots 13-12, while King's held the advantage in corners 6-4. Lady Monarchs' keeper Rachel Donatello made five saves, while Aggie keeper Liz McQuillian made seven.
King's will next host DeSales University for conference action at McCarthy Stadium at Robert L. Betzler field on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
