King's Field Hockey Drops 3-1 Verdict at Eastern

KING'S FIELD HOCKEY FALLS TO EASTERN, 3-1
 
ST. DAVID'S -- Host Eastern University broke open a 1-1 game with two goals over the final 5:30 of the first half as the Eagles posted a 3-1 victory over King's College in a Freedom Conference Freedom Conference matchup Saturday in St. David's.

With the win, Eastern improved to 12-4 overall and 4-0 in league play while King's slipped to 8-6 and 3-1 in Freedom matches.

Ely Troup scored for Eastern 5:32 into the game, but King's tied the game just 2:07 later when Jenera Quinones struck net for the Lady Monarchs.

Eastern, however, would use goals from Kim Campbell at 29:30 and another from Brittany Moyer with no time left in the first half as the Eagles took a 3-1 lead into the break.

Neither team would score over the final 35 minutes of play.

Eastern outshot King's 26-5 and held a 22-3 advantage in penalty corners. Erin McGinley allowed three goals for King's while making 12 saves.
