King’s Men’s Soccer Earns 2-0 Victory over FDU-Florham

MONARCHS EARN 2-0 VICTORY OVER FDU-FLORHAM
 
MADISON, NJ - - The King's College men's soccer team scored one goal in each half as the Monarchs posted a critical 2-0 road win over FDU-Florham in a critical Freedom Conference matchup Saturday in rain-soaked Madison, NJ.
 
With the win, King's improved to a 11-4-1 overall record and a 3-2-1 Freedom Conference mark. FDU-Florham fell to 8-8-1 overall record and a 1-4- 1 conference mark. The win was especially importnt for King's which is in contention for a Freedom Conference Tournament berth with one league game remaining in the regular-season.
 
Joey Bender scored the first goal of the game 18:21 into the contest off an assist by Greg DeMaio. Dan Horn notched an insurance goal for the Monarchs with 2:35 left in the contest to put the game away.

Both teams had trouble generating offense in the foul weather as the Monarchs managed just five shots while FDU could only muster one shot.

Andrew O'Shura started in cage and earned the shutout for King's by making a save on the lone Devil shot.
 
The Monarchs will continue their road stretch with a trip to conference-foe Lebanon Valley College on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in Annville.
