KING'S MEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS SHORT AGAINST PENN COLLEGE
WILLIAMSPORT – The King's College men's basketball team opened its 2009-10 on a sour note as the Monarchs dropped a 74-70 verdict to host Penn College in the Monarchs' season-opener Tuesday in Williamsport.
King's built a slim 33-32 halftime lead but were outscored 42-37 over the game's final 20 minutes.
Kevin Conroy led the Monarchs with 16 points and nine rebounds while Kyle Stackhouse finished with 14 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Nick Reisig chipped in with 11 points for King's.
Penn College was paced by Leroy Joyner with 20 points and nine rebounds while Joe Simon followed with 17 points. Greg Solyak added 16 points to he host school's attack.
King's returns to action Saturday and Sunday at the Steven's College Invitational in Hoboken, NJ. The Monarchs face Babson College in their 4:00 p.m. Saturday opener.
