MONARCH WRESTLERS FALL TO 11TH RANKED TCNJ, 38-3

WILKES-BARRE — The King's College wrestling team was a difficult 2009-10 home opener as the Monarchs fell to traditional NCAA Division III power The College of New Jersey in a Metropolitan Conference matchup Tuesday in Scandlon Gymnasium.

With the win, TCNJ, ranked 11th nationally in Division III, improved to 4-0 on the year while the Monarchs fell to 2-6

King's junior standout Mike Reilly of Crestwood, the two-time defending Metro champion, improved to 12-0 with a 9-4 decision over Mike Denver at 184-pounds.  Monarch senior Frankie Davis led much of his bout with James Somma but fell 9-7 at 141-poinds. King's Taylor Green dropped a 3-0 decision to Dan DiColo in a matchup between two of the top contenders for the Metro title at 157-pounds.  King's freshman Pete Dwyer also dropped a close 7-5 verdict to Adam Kozial at 197.

King's returns to the mat Friday with a 7:00 p.m. Matchup at Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ.
