LADY MONARCH CAGERS END SEMESTER WITH 70-42 WIN OVER KEYSTONE
LaPLUME – The King's College women's basketball team placed 11 players in the scoring column as the Lady Monarchs wrapped up the first semester of play with a 70-42 victory over host Keystone College Saturday in LaPlume.
With the win King's improved to 5-5 while Keystone slipped to 1-5 after the non-conference matchup.
King's built a 28-17 lead at the half, but exploded over the final 20 minutes of play, outscoring Keystone 42-25.
Megan Rigous led the attack with 18 points, three rebounds, and two assists while Kayla Dick continued her solid play by tallying 10 points with three-three-pointers. Abby Malloy added eight points while Julianna Lynott contributed seven points and six rebounds. Lindsay Atchison followed with five points and six boards while Molly Dahl and Jess Segilia also added five points. Brittany Muscatell chipped in with seven rebounds and six assists.
Keystone was led by Ellen Fallon with 15 points while Yasmeen Bates added six points and 12 rebounds.
The Lady Monarchs will be idle until traveling to Orlando, Florida for the ECAC Holiday Tournament. King's will face Coiby College on January 2 before playing the College of Staten Island on January 4.
