KING'S WRESTLERS TO HOST ELIZABETHTOWN TUESDAY
WILKES-BARRE – The King's College wrestling team will return to the mat on Tuesday when the Monarchs host Elizabethtown College in a Metropolitan Conference matchup at 7:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gymnasium.
King's enters the contest with a 12-13 record after sweeping a quad-meet over Messiah, McDaniel, and Gettysburg on Saturday . Elizabethtown, meanwhile, is 5-11 after posting a 1-2 mark in a quad meet at York College. The Blue Jays defeated Hunter, but fell to Wilkes and York.
The Monarchs are led by defending Metropolitan Conference champion Mike Reilly who sports a current 21-6 record at 174-pounds. Sophomore heavyweight Chris Rash has enjoyed a solid first year as a starter, earning a 20-5 mark. Senior Zach Wilkinson also boasts one of the best records on the team with a 19-4 ledger at 184-pounds. Junior Taylor Green has also enjoyed a fine season with a 13-3 record at 157-pounds.
Elizabethtown is headed by Freshman Tyler Erdmann who sports a 27-4 mark at 125-pounds. Junior Tim Katzaman is 22-6 at heavyweight while Jereme Heisey is 18-8 at 157.
Following the match, King's will return to action Friday when the Monarchs host cross-town rival Wilkes University in the team's final dual meet of the season.
