KING'S WOMEN FALL TO DESALES IN FREDOM CONFERENCE PAIRING
WILKES-BARRE – Visiting DeSales University opened u[p a 35-21 ;lead at the half and never looked back as the Bulldogs posted a 66-42 victory over King's College Wednesday in Scandlon Gym.
With the win, DeSales improved to 18-4 overall and 11-2 in Freedom Conference play. King's, meanwhile, slipped to 8-14 and 6-7 in league games.
DeSales shot 44.8 (13-29) percent from the field in the first half and made six three-pointers to build a 14-point lead.
The Bulldogs were led by LeighAnn Burke with 18 points while Kim Rarick added 14 points and four assists. Caitlin Miller added 10 reboiunds to pace the Bulldogs.
King's, which made just 3-of-19 three-pointers in the game, shot just 31.6 (12-38) percent from the floor in the contest and committed 28 turnovers. Kaitlyn Fiorino led King's with 12 points and four rebounds while Katie Miller followed with seven points and four boards. Brittany Muscatell netted six points with three assists while Abby Mallow tallied five points. Julianna Lynott posted a team-high six boards.
King's will next travel to Doylestown to face Delaware Valley College at 1:00 p.m.
