KING'S WRESTLERS TO HOST WILKES ON FRIDAY

WILKES-BARRE – The King's College wrestling team will prepare for next week's Metropolitan Conference Tournament when the Monarchs conclude the dual meet season Friday with a 7:00 p.m. contest against cross-town rival Wilkes University in Scandlon Gymnasium.

The Monarchs enter the matchup with a 13-13 overall mark and own a five-match winning streak. Wilkes, meanwhile, is ranked 20th nationally in Division III with 16-6-2 mark.

Leading the way for King's sophomore Mike Reilly, the 2008 Metropolitan Conference champion, who is 23-6 at 174-pounds . Senior Zach Wilkinson follows with a 20-4 record at 184-pounds while junior heavyweight Chris Rash owns a 20-6 mark. Junior Taylor Green is the top wrestler at 157-pounds with a 13-3 ledger. In the lighter weight classes, freshman Anthony Dietrick is 16-13 at 133, junior Tony Miele stands at 15-15 at 141, while freshman Mike Tabasco is 12-14 at 125-pounds.

For Wilkes, senior Shaun Farnham leads the team in victories with a 27-2 mark at 125-pounds. Freshman Anthony Dattolo stands at 21-6 at 141-pounds while senior Joshua Pauling owns a 26-8 record at 133. Senior Erik Smith is 21-9 at 149 while freshman William Gouger owns a 19-7 mark at 184. Junior Frank Heffernan is 19-9 at 174-pounds while freshman Richard Sparks stands at 17-7 at 197. Senior heavyweight Andrew Feldman chips in with an 8-4 mark.

Both King's and Wilkes will compete in the Metropolitan Conference Championships Sunday, February 22 at York College in York, Pa. The NCAA Division III National Championships are set for March 6-7 in Cedar Rapids, IA
