KING'S BASEBALL HOSTING LEBANON VALLEY
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College baseball team will host Lebanon Valley College Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Lipo Field in the Robert L. Betzler Athletic Complex. King's enters Tuesday's home game against Lebanon Valley with a 9-4 overall record after dropping a 17-12 decision to Gwynedd-Mercy on Saturday.
Senior Jon Venarchick tops the squad with a .478 average (22-46) with four doubles, three triples, three home runs and 15 RBI. Junior Eric Matula bats .444 (16-36) with two doubles, one triple and five RBI while going 1-4 on the mound with a 6.20 ERA and 29 K's in 24.2 innings... Sophomore Rob Fravel bats.438 (14-32) with one double and eight RBI. Junior Gracjan Kraszewski enters with a .388 (19-49) average with six doubles and 20 RBI.
Junior Matt Unger contributes at .375 (12-32) with four doubles and 11t RBI. Freshman Brian Mikus chips in with a .279 (12-43) mark with five RBI. Junior Dan Jenkins is 3-0 with a 3.45 ERA and 26 K's in 28.2 innings. Senior Ryan Derry is 4-2 with a 4.71 ERA and 12 K's in 21 innings.
The Lebanon Valley baseball team has 6-8 overall record after dropping a 8-5 decision to DeSales on Monday. Colt Zarilla owns a team-high .434 (23-53) batting average with one double, two triples, one home run and 13 RBI. Grant Wiest follows at .429 (15-35) with three doubles and seven RBI. Nate Blough stands at .417 (10-24) with one double, one home run and seven RBI. Joe Soupik averages .390 (16-41) with eight doubles , two home runs and 16 RBI. Derek Helwig checks in with a .359 (14-39) average with three doubles and seven RBI.
For the pitchers, Brian Miller is 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA and 18 K's in 13 innings. Dustin Deibert is 2-1 with a 8.68 ERA and six K's in 9.1 innings. Shane Specht is 0-2 with a 5.48 ERA and 18 K's in 23 innings. Nick Farla is 1-1 with a 6.11 ERA and 12 K's in 17.2 innings. Nate Blough is 1-1 with a 7.27 ERA and 14 K's in 17.1 innings.
King's will then travel to Scranton to face Marywood University Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
