KING'S BASEBALL HOSTING ALVERNIA UNIVERSITY
WILKES-BARRE – The King's College baseball team will host Alvernia College Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Lipo Field in the Robert L. Betzler Athletic Complex. King's enters the game with a 12-5 overall record and a 2-0 Middle Atlantic Conference mark after picking up a doubleheader sweep of Manhattanville on Saturday.

Senior Jon Venarchick tops the squad with a .483 average (29-60) with six doubles, three triples, four home runs and 21 RBI. Sophomore Rob Fravel hits .438 (18-48) with two doubles and 13 RBI. Junior Eric Matula bats .423 (22-52) with five doubles, one triple and six RBI while going 1-4 on the mound with a 5.85 ERA and 31 K's in 32.1 innings. Junior Matt Unger contributes at .400 (20-50) with seven doubles and 16 RBI.
Sophomore Mike Fignar has a .370 (17-46) average with six doubles, one triple and eight RBI. Junior Gracjan Kraszewski enters with a .343 (23-67) average with seven doubles and 24 RBI. Junior Dan Jenkins is 3-0 with a 3.86 ERA and 33 K's in 35 innings. Senior Ryan Derry is 4-0 with a 4.07 ERA and 22 K's in 24 .1 innings.
The Alvernia baseball team has 13-5 overall record after picking up a 15-4 victory over Lebanon Valley on Friday. Tim Ahlquist owns a team-high .457 (21-46) batting average with eight doubles, one triple, one home run and 10 RBI. Mike Latona follows at .390 (23-59) with one double and 11 RBI. Steve DeBarberie stands at .387 (24-62) with four doubles, one triple, one home run and 17 RBI. Tyler Runkle averages .375 (15-40) with five doubles, one home run and 16 RBI. Reid Martin checks in with a .356 (21-59) average with one double, three triples, one home run and 22 RBI.
For the pitchers, Chris Stoudt is 3-0 with a 1.12 ERA and 26 K's in 24 innings. Chuck Nicholas is 2-2 with a 2.16 ERA with 22 K's in 33. 1 innings. Brian Longo is 1-1 with a 2.61 ERA and 13 K's in 10.1 innings. Shane Zellers is 3-2 with a 3.54 ERA and 21 K's in 28 innings.
King's will next host Keuka College on Thursday with the first pitch slated for 3:30 p.m.
