WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College baseball team will host Delaware Valley College Saturday at 12:00 noon in a Freedom Conference doubleheader at Lipo Field in the Robert L. Betzler Athletic Complex. Both games will be nine-inning affairs.

The Monarchs enter the game following a tough 8-3 loss to 28th ranked Alvernia on Friday. The Monarchs had defeated Alvernia 6-2 earlier in the week and stand at 14-6 overall and 3-1 in Freedom Conference play. Delaware Valley, meanwhile, is 13-2 overall and 1-1 in Freedom Conference games following a 3-2 win over defending conference champion DeSales on Friday.

The twin bill could also provide an impessive career milestone as King's senior third-baseman Jon Venarchick stands two hits away from reaching the 200-hit plateau for his career. Venarchick posted two hits against Alvernia on Friday to enter the weekend with 198 career base hits.
